Somatic Experience: Embodied Self—Awareness
Somatic Experience: Embodied Self—Awareness
Course Trainer Paul Taylor-Smith leads an intake at The Somatic School through a somatic experience during the Module on Presence & Sense.
The invitation is to find a quiet space and follow along.
The intention for this experience is to notice what happens for you. And not to have anything in particular happen. To be with our experience, just as it is. And to notice what that’s like.
We all have different shaped sensory perception, and we can explore what our experience is like for us, in this moment.
The experience is based on a body of work called bodymind centering, by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen. There were elements to that which were about embodying our senses. Some of the work may also have been related to mindfulness - the deliberate placing of attention.
On the Accredited Diploma in Body-Oriented Coaching we explore this at a deeper level, unpacking the classes of sensory perception and building a coaches skillset in utilising embodied self-awareness for the coaching room.
